Why is there a connector installed into the COM1 port?
This is actually a loop back connector. POSIFLEX uses a pass-through technology that allows for the use of multiple devices from the COM1 port. Although POSIFLEX recommends leaving this device in place, removal will not harm your machine. Connection of any other serial device will take the place of the loop back connector when attached.

When I insert the power cable from the ac adapter into Posiflexpro a few of them
power up without using the power on switch. Why is this?
Because in some of our systems, there is a power management feature in BIOS called "Power On After AC loss" or something like that.
What that feature does is that when enabled, if there is an abnormal lost of power, or if the system was shut-off without proper shutdown procedure. For example, power adaptor got pulled off while the system is still on. When the power adaptor is connected again, system will be powered on automatically without touching the power button

The CR-Port is a subdevice of COM1
to test a Cashdrawer on the TP CR-Port you have to:
1) Be sure to connect the CCBLA-170 to COM-1
2) Set up the Parameters for COM1 under DOS or a DOS-Box under Windows as
follows: 9600 Baud, No Parity, 8 Data Bits, 1 Stop Bits

3) If the Cash Drawer is wired for the first CR-Port you send use the ^G-code ('07'
hexadecimal / '07' decimal / 'BEL' ASCII) or if it is
wired for the second CR-Port you must use the ^W-Code ('17' hexadecimal / '23'
decimal / 'ETB' ASCII) to open the Cash Drawer.
4) Send the Code you need to Com1 and the Cash Drawer shoul open.
5) The easiest way to test it is to create a Text File which you can send to the Com1-
Port for testing.

CR-Port:
copy con test.txt
press the STRG-Key and the G-Key simulaniously so that you can see the ^G on the

I-Button
How can I program an I-button so that I get a "/n" at the end of the sequence?
We cannot program the characters"/" "n"into iButton. However, we can use setup
program to setup "CR" in delimiter option. Since "CR" and "/n" means the same
thing, which means jump to next line. So this should work for the customer.
1. To do the setup, in Windows XP Pro, run "Hyperterminal", which is located in
"Start"--> "All Programs" --> "Accessories" --> "Communication".
2. Now follow the directions in the configuration guide I sent you yesterday to do the
initial setup, and then call up the iButton configuration menu.
3. You should now see a list of option you can do. Select "3....Delimiter [Special
symbol selection]".
4. You should now be presented with 4 options, select "1....CR".
